Social Outreach
As socially responsible corporate heads, our founders, Divya, Ritika and Payal have grown up with the deep-rooted belief that nations do not become powerful with mere economic growth or military might. True development is only possible when an inclusive nation offers a conducive environment for ample opportunity for progress to each and every citizen.
Coming from liberal families, these ladies attribute their professional success to the progressive outlook of their parents. However, growing up in urban India, it was evident from a fairly young age that despite belonging to a stratum of society that did not discriminate against women, a large number of academic and employment opportunities were not available to their counterparts due to a societal and generational bias.
Thus, began their personal journey of doing their bit for their community by understanding the regressive, rural mindset against the girl child -a burden meant to be married off at the earliest. Archaic and medieval practices like female infanticide and child marriage were very much a part of certain parts of the country. After working with these downtrodden families, they realised that the only way to eliminate these social evils is by educating the girl child – “educating a girl is like educating a generation “.
With Vows, they intend to use a part of their income to educate these girls from under-privileged homes. Sensitizing families to allow these girls to attend formal schools, empower them with relevant skill sets and enable them to uplift themselves economically would be a continuous process.Vows pledges to extend financial support for the marriage ceremonies of girls from less fortunate backgrounds in partnership with Wishes & Blessings. After all , cliched as it may be ,everyone has a right to love , to respect and to their very own happily ever after.
